our life the sitcom

Seriously people! Do these things happen to everyone or just us? I honestly feel like my family's life needs to be a sitcom. I need to write a book about my family, but I'd never be able to sell it as a memoir. I'd have to market it as fiction, because no one would believe the craziness that happens.

Here's a minor example that just happened tonight......

Dad was watching tv and accidently dropped the remote. That's it. He just dropped the remote from the couch to the carpeted floor. Somehow, in that brief moment, a button was pushed that changed the menu language of our tv from English to Spanish. Yes, Spanish.

And we have no idea how it happened and none of us really speak Spanish. I can read it (as in pronounce it) but comprehension is lacking. And of course all the menus are in Spanish so I have no idea how to change it back.

So now, when you press the mute button, instead of saying "MUTED" instead it reads "SILENCIO".

It makes me feel sophisticated and international.

  2. Nice story. Reminds me of a friend who thought it would be fun to see what his mobile phone looked like if the menus were in czech. You are a bit better off I guess, it's probably easier to find someone who speaks Spanish
